Peppa Pig DVD Covers Part 2

    Xefer Twitter Visualization

This graphic can generally be put in the pile of visualizations of stuff that isn’t important, but the display is cool. This tool from Xefer looks at your Twitter behavior distribution over days of the week and time.

Happily, it seems I don’t use Twitter in my sleep.

    iPhone 3.0 Phone Label

This is a little change in the iPhone 3.0 release that I hadn’t seen anyone mention. When you change the type of a phone number in Address Book on the iPhone you’ve always been able to set custom labels in addition to the built-in ones. However, there was a new one added in 3.0 for “iPhone” (see 2nd choice).

Kind of odd. Not real sure what you would use this for other than vanity. I guess you could sometime specify, particularly with the coming use of MMS, that I only want to send this to iPhones?

    Flying Scotsman

Good movie all bout Graeme Obree’s pursuit of various cycling records.

    Macchiato Isn't Caramel

    me: Macchiato please.
    barista: Caramel Macchiato?
    me: No, macchiato.
    barista: Espresso Macchiato?
    me: Yes, macchiato.

First Shot at Homemade Ice Cream

Cooking was definitely the action for this years Father’s Day gifts. Tammy signed me up for a couple more of the Grillmaster cooking classes at Kitchen Window. Mazie got me something I’ve wanted to play around with for a while, an ice cream maker. We gave it a go for the first time tonight with a basic vanilla ice cream recipe. Mazie put the ingredients together and I did the measuring, we then poured it into the machine and started it up.

The machine cranked away and the ice cream slowly came together. The machine has an open top so that you can add ingredients while the ice cream is still mixing, but it’s also handy to dip a spoon in and give the ice cream a test. The final product was delicious and it was a lot of fun to make.

This was a learning batch. I think I should have ran it in the machine a bit longer than I did. It was solid and held in place, but I think I could have gotten it a bit more solid. The biggest thing I learned was that in addition to freezing the ice cream makers bowl, I should also freeze the bowl I’m going to put the finished ice cream in. I placed it in a glass bowl and some of the ice cream melted right away on contact with the glass. Need to keep everything cold!

    Star Trek Movie

We finally went and saw the new Star Trek movie. I really enjoyed it. I hesitated seeing it for a long time. It was really good.

    Bricker.

    Keekley.

Isn’t Hüsker Dü a band? What’s with the Hūsker Dū board game? I guess it’s all in the ū versus the ü.
