Jamie, your story was poetic and nostalgic and beautiful. You should expand on it and submit it for short story publication. I have some of the same memories - the farm, the cafe in town with Grandpa and it took me back to a really innocent happy time in life. Thanks!

Thanks for soaking in the real flavor of the farm and knowing that it's the place and the people that give it the goodness it offers. It is always good to have everyone gather to celebrate the family and it's changes, I'm so happy to have spent this last weekend there with you and your family. I leave there with the question of when do I get to visit here again............

I have never lived on a farm, but can image the good memories you have from your boyhood days with friends and family. I agree, I think something is lost in the city with a lack of community. It is something we should value and culivate even when we live in the fast paced city.

Ditto, the farm is very different than the city life, and that's a good thing. Too bad after awhile we might not have the opportunity for our children to experience this feeling of being at the farm.
