It’s lame when the only time you need to log into services is to disable privacy invading features that I have no interest in.

I think it is just indicative of Google loosing its way. From the “Don’t be evil” days it has become bloated, dictatorial and seems to believe that it owns the net. The products are becoming buggy and they don’t seem to have learnt any of the lessons of the past. IBM – > Microsoft -> Google – > who next ?
I feel better for that mini rant :)
