I am frustrated with the same problem - every few minutes I am prompted by the same stupid networks that I never want to join. Any solutions?

Yes, this is very annoying. They should have an "ignore" capability for wifi networks that we never want to join.

This was a great post. I'm annoyed as hell about my iPhone. Verizon put Fios in our neighborhood, and now I can see about a dozen WiFi networks in my list. Most of the time it's, not a problem; I'm at home, so it auto-connects to my home WiFi, but when I'm outside of my house, my phone goes nuts.

I'd like to see every single feature you outlined here.

Auto-selecting captive access points is, by far, one of my biggest annoyances about the iPhone. I often have to turn off the WiFi radio if I want to use the Internet in certain places.
