Last weekend Tammy and I had a nice dinner at Kings Wine Bar (one of my new favorite places) and then went to a movie. We went to Contagion. It was a good movie, and if anything underplayed the kind of pandemonium that would follow the kind of epidemic depicted.

When I got up at the end of the movie all the other people in the movie theater seemed like something to get away from. :-)

  1. I’ve heard about this movie. The writers went to scientists dealing with these issues and this is a very realistic possibility. It probably is a matter of time for a super-virus / bacteria to make it’s way and thin the herd (so to speak).

There’s a super resistant tuberculosis that appears to be worrying quite a few people. Mostly it is in the UK and parts of Europe, but may make it’s way here in time.

  2. I saw this movie the week it came out (2 weeks ago I think). It was pretty good, but I don’t think it was as good as people were saying. I thought the scientific portion was fairly accurate, but I don’t think the film makers captured the breakdown of society (which would eventually happen). Overall a good movie though.

I agree with you Pat. Things would get way more out-of-hand than they portrayed. At least IMHO.

Dylan and I saw this movie at New Hope Cinema Grill tonight. Definitely made me think about people coughing around me and everything they touched and if I was coughing too. Crazy to think about but not unrealistic in any sense. Nice to see Minneapolis depicted as well.
