HumbleFinance produces really nice looking, smooth and interactive charts in HTML5 using Canvas. Very nice. At MarketWatch we had been trying to do this several years ago but it was really hard to get the user experience we wanted. I think browser technology has finally reached the point where you can do this stuff right. (via Daring Fireball)

It seems like the idea of a personal landing page is getting more popular. I like the concept, but I don’t want to have this hosted elsewhere. We could easily build these sites with some specialized WordPress themes.

This is a very interesting graphic for two reasons.

  1. I love to see that we in the upper-midwest have a real leadership position in organic farming. California and the Northeast are strong as well.
  2. This is a great infographic. It tells a story with nearly no words.

I just submitted my very first photo to JPG Magazine in their “Shoot Your Pet!” theme. Crossing my fingers that they will publish it.

Open Font Library

CSS3 is bringing @font-face, which finally allows us to use a variety of real fonts on the web. Huzzah! This site offers a variety of fonts in an Open Font License. Hopefully the number of fonts available will grow over time.
